Welcome to the Romantic Friday Writing Challenge, started and hosted by L'Aussie Denise and Francine Howarth, where participants share their own 300-400-word text on a given theme & current theme is Haunting!
and here it comes..........
Radio station: (RJ presenting show ‘With Love from Russia’)
There are few places in the world where mortality & divinity are more closely together.
In the sacred topography of the south Russia every village is believed to host to a numerable spirits & goddess, who said to guard & regulate the ebb & flow of daily life.
She joked what nonsense……… People still believe in spirit and all the stuffs & then turndown the radio as she is already getting late for her office.Opps she got Voicemail from office attendant for the announcement of business trip to Russia..Whooo…… Emily grabbed her overnight baggage & stormed out of the front door.
Then after the business meeting which was held at Moscow she decided to visit to the house of Sylvia Plath , the talented ,sensitive but lonely misunderstood young poet who committed suicide at the age of Twenty seven.
But the gatekeeper of that mansion, warned her not to enter inside it……….. he urged her to stay safe from the ruffled spirit who often spotted in the building ,staircase.
But she ignored it.
Finally she reached to Library where the Poet committed suicide…..four years ago………….
And then suddenly she realised some whipping noise from the dark corner of the library………….
Every second that noise got louder & louder….
‘Great Fear, Come Down, shaggy nights,
Cloud coated fog with the old eyes,
Star eyes……….
don’t be afraid come closer to me
My body, you will not fill the ditch
That I am digging, that I deepen each time.
Silence ,cooked like gold, in
Charred, charred
hands.
Fingers, insubstantial as smoke like grave’
Then he leaned towards her & whispered in her ear ‘there’s anything on your mind?’
She looked into his eyes and assured him, there’s nothing on her mind, and now she is totally bank like slate. Then they hugged each other intimately & he urged her to leave now she would not be late for her Lunch date.
That's all guy’s. This week's theme is Haunting! Come join us.

Hi Shona! Welcome to Romantic Friday Writers! Lovely to have you become a member and post right away.
ReplyDeleteI'm a great fan of Sylvia Plath and so saddened by her suicide, although that's what she desired for so long - to escape a world she felt was so painful. Her poetry is haunting, as is your poem within your prose today.
Thanks for the links to so many other poets!
Denise
Hi,
ReplyDeleteAll the right ingredients for a spooky Haunting!
Loved that you used Sylvia Plath for inspiration, and of course a haunted mansion, not to mention haunted library! Way to go...
best
