There is something
That catches me
Each & every time.
i looked at these waves at marine drive
as they fouled landscape
they sunk into itself,
Since,
i don’t work with her ,
i don’t sit at the Irani hotel to have a dinner with her.
but i can see thick skinned band on her wrist.
The bus was taking me,
Over the bridge & I looked on into the tunnel.
at far end at Nariman house
and then went to Zaveri bazaar...
Hoping
to see her again,
she sat on the willow bank
watching the duke of clervaux...
she cried a lot.
I hugged her
explained the game
and she was sorry
she had torn herself
from the mud bowl
and had hurried so joyfully
she lean over slightly
holds nothing
no ovals, no limbs to count
hurried to the yellow gate
to get FREE from her grief

ReplyDeleteThe context eluded me and thus, could not decipher much beyond the pain and the joy upon the eventual release from it.
ReplyDeleteBut enjoyed your choice of words and brevity of your expression.
Well I can interpret it .. but have I understood it? Doubts and doubts :-)

ReplyDeleteI think the very first image is very captivating. I can relate well to what i've just read because often we know exactly what we're saying and say it the way we envision it since in our mind the picture is complete but to a new reader it might not seem the same.
ReplyDeleteTherefore although I don't fully comprehend the thoughts/emotions that must have accompanied this writing but I applaud your confidence in writing exactly what you want to without worrying about the rest.
